Job Title: Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Chorley 

Salary: £60,000-£65,000 + bonus

Reporting to: Finance Director


Our client is a profitable, high growth wholesale business. With clear plans to scale and position themselves for a future sale, they are looking to strengthen the commercial function and appoint a Commercial Finance Manager. 

Supporting the Finance Director and wider SLT, you will play a key part in turning data into insight, supporting strategic decision making and helping drive profitability across the business.


The Role

The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis and commercial insight to support business performance. This role will focus on analysing data, identifying trends, opportunities and translating findings into actionable recommendations for the leadership team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Analysing business and financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Delivering clear insights and recommendations to improve commercial performance
  • Acting as a finance business partner to Sales, Operations and Marketing
  • Conducting detailed variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and historical performance
  • Performing customer and revenue analysis, including customer profitability and pricing insight
  • Monitoring business performance through Power BI dashboards and using data to inform decision making
  • Responding to ad hoc analysis requests from senior stakeholders
  • Supporting initiatives aimed at driving profitability and improving margins
  • Providing insight into commercial performance across products, customers and channels


About You

  • ACCA/CIMA Qualified, QBE may be considered 
  • Strong data analysis and financial modelling skills
  • Proven ability to turn complex data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Experience in a commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering role
  • Strong variance analysis and trend analysis capability
  • Experience working closely with sales or operational teams
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with Power BI or other data visualisation tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial insight to non-finance stakeholders
