Job Description

A successful and expanding SME within the technology sector is seeking a commercially minded, hands-on Financial Controller to join its leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee all financial operations and lead a capable Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Present financial results to the senior leadership team
  • Support and lead annual budgets and quarterly forecasting cycles
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Drive process improvements across finance and business wide
  • Partner with other departments to support wider business goals
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to budget holders
  • Oversee statutory accounts preparation and manage the year-end audit
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Build and manage relationships with auditors, banks, and key suppliers



Qualifications/Skills

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Strong track record of managing the full finance function in an SME
  • Experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Advanced Excel and strong accounting systems skills
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams
  • Strong communicator with confident presentation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience within the technology or managed services sector


Details

  • £65,000-£75,000 basic (depending on experience) + bonus 
  • Reports to CFO | Direct reports: Finance (7 team members) 
  • Technology sector 
  • Office based (flexibility)
