FP&A Manager – Blackpool (2–3 days in the office)
Sowena Group has been retained by a fast-growing, private equity–backed business in the manufacturing and logistics space, in their search for a new FP&A Manager. The business has significant momentum and a clear growth plan to leverage its proven platform with huge ‘white space’ opportunity, supported by several opportunities to turbocharge the company’s growth outside of the core focus. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven, self starting Newly Qualified to join the business at the start of an exciting growth journey.
We’re looking for a hands-on FP&A Manager to support the Head of Strategy in building a strong analytical and planning framework across the business. This is a key role at the heart of the company’s growth, helping to bring clarity, structure, and insight to financial and operational performance.
The role combines classic FP&A duties with commercial analysis, data improvement, and project support — perfect for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a tangible impact in a fast-scaling business.
The ideal candidate will be commercially astute and a motivated self-starter who is looking to take ownership in a dynamic operating business. You’ll need analytical rigour and interpersonal skills to work with and challenge various senior members of the business through data insights and financial / data-led assessments
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Strategy to deliver budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and performance reporting.
- Cleanse, reconcile, and structure financial data to enable robust analysis and decision-making.
- Develop and track KPIs across six key business areas, ensuring actionable insight is shared daily / weekly.
- Support with bespoke internal projects the Head of Strategy is working on from a financial perspective
- Support business plans for new growth initiatives with a focus building the financial aspects of business plans, analytics and utilising data to make data-led decisions
- Prepare analysis and reports for senior leadership and PE house.
- Help improve financial systems, processes, and automation to support scaling operations – working closely with in-house data team
Qualifications/Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or data analysis. Candidates with experience in Corporate Finance or Transaction Services may also be suitable.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with ability to simplify complex concepts to drive decision making
- Detail-focused, proactive, and capable of working independently in a lean team.
- Excellent communication skills and commercial curiosity with resilience to challenge and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in data tools (e.g. Power BI) desirable but not essential.
- Exposure to private equity–backed or high-growth environments is a plus.
