With strong investor backing and an ambitious expansion strategy, this is a brilliant opportunity for a newly or recently qualified accountant to step into a Group Accountant role with real exposure across a multi-entity structure.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality management information, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting group reporting, all within a business scaling ahead of a future exit.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you’ll support day-to-day group finance operations while ensuring robust month-end processes, cashflow visibility, and technical compliance.

This is a hands-on, detail-focused role with exposure to consolidation, statutory reporting, and process improvement- ideal for someone wanting to strengthen their group accounting skillset in a PE environment.


Key Responsibilities

Management Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis with clear explanations of key movements
  • Own the cashflow forecasting process, ensuring assumptions are robust and reconciled
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolving issues promptly
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with reliable data and schedules

Controls & Core Finance Processes

  • Maintain and apply key accounting policies including revenue recognition and commission schemes
  • Support policy harmonisation across entities, including future acquisitions
  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns with clear supporting documentation
  • Strengthen financial controls, documentation, and process consistency across the group

Group & Technical Accounting

  • Support group consolidation including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
  • Assist with technical accounting papers for non-routine or complex transactions
  • Contribute to statutory reporting under UK GAAP
  • Liaise with external auditors during year-end processes

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Use advanced Excel to manage reconciliations, analyse data, and improve workflows
  • Work within the group ERP to maintain accurate posting logic and system controls
  • Contribute to improving integrations between finance and operational systems
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes as the group scales


About You

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Strong grounding in management accounting and month-end processes
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition, VAT, and core accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, handling large datasets)
  • Experience working within an ERP system
  • High attention to detail with a strong control mindset
  • Comfortable operating in a multi-entity or growing business environment
  • Proactive, accountable, and keen to improve processes
