Head of Finance

Job Description

A private equity backed, high-growth e-commerce business operating across global online marketplaces. Accelerating growth through operational excellence, data-driven insights, and strategic market expansion. As the business continues to scale rapidly, they are seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance to lead the finance function, provide strategic insight, and support the next phase of growth.

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team and oversee all aspects of financial management, including reporting, planning, cash flow management, accounts receivable/payable, credit control, and financial systems administration. This senior leadership role combines hands-on financial oversight with strategic input for the executive team and Board.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly turnover and gross profit reports to support business decisions.
• Prepare the Month-End Board Pack, ensuring accuracy and consolidation across subsidiaries.
• Lead accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit control.
• Manage and forecast cash flow, supporting budgeting and strategic planning.
• Provide accurate, timely financial information to guide decision-making.
• Ensure all income and expenditure are correctly recorded and reconciled.
• Act as finance system administrator, maintaining data integrity and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with taxation, licensing, and regulatory obligations globally.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement financial processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement.
• Manage client financial contracts, ensuring compliance and commercial alignment.
• Assess and escalate financial and operational risks as necessary.
• Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
• Foster a culture of efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

Qualifications/Skills

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant.
• Ambitious, self-motivated, and proactive.
• Experience in a private equity–backed or high-growth business environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, balancing strategic insight with operational execution.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and Boards.
• Ecommerce experience is advantageous.

• Salary: £70,000-£80,000
