Job Description

As Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial performance and reporting of the business. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate management accounts, analysing key financial data, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities to help guide commercial decision-making. This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Process month-end journals and maintain accurate records for WIP, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Analyse overheads and cost centres, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Finance Manager with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase invoices and payroll information through the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insight and drive process efficiencies.
  • Assist with audit preparation and statutory reporting as required.


Qualifications/Skills

  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a management accounting or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
  • Strong Excel and ERP system skills.
  • Solid understanding of management accounting principles and financial controls.
