Management Accountant

Job Description

Sowena Group are exclusively partnered with a leading services business in Liverpool seeking to appoint a new Management Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is a broad and hands-on role that combines transactional finance with financial reporting, offering excellent exposure across the full accounting function.

As the Senior Property Accountant, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial management of a diverse property portfolio, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all finance processes. Working closely with the Finance Controller and wider operational teams, you’ll play a key role in month-end and year-end reporting, helping to strengthen controls and improve financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage all areas of transactional finance, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Process and monitor rental income, service charges, and property-related payments
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting and efficiency
• Support and mentor junior finance team members and act as a key point of contact for finance queries

Qualifications/Skills

• Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
• Previous experience within property, real estate, or a similar multi-entity environment
• Strong understanding of both transactional and management accounting
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confident communicator with a proactive and solutions-focused approach

• Salary up to £45,000 (depending on experience)
