Sowena Group hosts golf tournament for The Michael Carrick Foundation

Sunshine, great company, and a fantastic cause — our Charity Golf Day had it all.

We teamed up with Alex Platt at UK Staffing Group to co-host the first event in our charity golf tournament series. The day brought together finance and executive leaders from across the North West for a brilliant round of golf at Stockport Golf Club — all in support of the Michael Carrick Foundation.

The Foundation works to create empowering opportunities for disadvantaged young people across Greater Manchester and the North East, helping them feel safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.

From the first tee to the final putt, the atmosphere was buzzing. We were honoured to be joined by the Michael Carrick Foundation team — including Michael Carrick himself — a powerful reminder of the real-world impact these events can have.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who played, donated, and supported us on the day, we raised just under £2,500 to fund the Foundation’s vital programmes.

We’re already looking forward to the semi-final in September, co-hosted by CG, where we’ll be bringing together another fantastic group of finance executives and professional services leaders to compete while raising money for Inspire.

Then in October, the grand final will decide who will be crowned the overall tournament champion.
